The Mini Millers program offers a developmental house-league baseball program to the Minneapolis community for players in grades 1-4.
This year our Mini Millers program will provide a Coach Pitch league for players currently in 1st and 2nd grades and our Kid Pitch league will be available for players currently in 3rd and 4th grades.
Mini Millers is a stepping stone program to help younger players develop their baseball skills and knowledge in the hopes of becoming competitive travel baseball players.

Mini Millers participate in up to 4 scheduled events each week ranging from practices, games, and other baseball-related events.
We will be hosting a Pre-Evaluation Clinic, on Sunday, March 20, at Our Lady of Peace School (5435 11th Ave S). This clinic is FREE but also OPTIONAL; however, it's a great way to get some practice in before evaluations, so please plan on taking part! Rather than cramming all 150+ excited little baseball players into OLP's gym at once, which would be both a fire-code violation and must-see Instagram material, we've broken the clinic up into 60-75 minute sessions. Evaluations will be held on Sunday, March 27 (10 AM - 4 PM), at the University of Minnesota Rec Dome (600 25th Ave SE). All players will participate in evaluations, but this is NOT A TRYOUT. Everyone will make a team, and we merely use evaluations in an attempt to create balanced teams. More information on the schedule for Evaluation Day will be distributed next week.
After Team Formation, Before the Season Begins
Teams will be formed no later than Monday, April 11.
The first team event will be our Mini-Millers kickoff on Saturday, April 16. At the kickoff, kids will meet their coach and teammates, and teams will get their equipment. The kickoff will also function as a training clinic and as part of our coach training program: Each team will have its first practice, with the practice led by veteran Millers coaches and assisted by former and current Millers players.
Teams will begin practices led by their coach the week of April 18. You can expect 2-3 baseball events per week. Teams will play 1-2 games each week and practice schedules are at coaches discretion. In-season practices continue to focus on player development while working on game situation play as well. Practice times and locations are schedule by each individual coach as it relates to game schedules.
Specific locations will depend on park availability. Historically, games have been played at Bob Casey Field, Armatage and Phelps Parks but are not limited to those sites. Games run weeknights with playoffs beginning at the end of the regular season schedule.
While we won't have a finalized schedule until we know how many teams we have, we're looking at ending the Mini-Millers season by July 18 at the very latest.
Mini Millers attempts to host a tournament mid-season involving Park Board teams pending the availability of Park Board teams. Players who are interested and qualified will have the opportunity to represent the Mini Millers in a 10A tournament. Eligibility is determined during pre-season evaluations. The tournament team will have additional practices throughout the summer. This option carries extra cost.
The Mighty Minis (aka Mini Millers PLUS) is an optional program for kids looking for a little more baseball. Mighty Minis involves some extra practices and a metro-area tournament in June. The cost of Mighty Minis is roughly $75, which covers the tournament and special jersey. Participation in Mighty Minis is by invite only. If your player would like to be considered for Mighty Minis during evaluations and didn’t indicate so in your registration, send a note to our Registrar, Kearney Burns, at Registrar@mplsmillers.org, and she can update your registration.
